Advanced Aviation Training provides pilot ratings and endorsements in Queensland for pilots wanting to expand their privileges, develop new flying skills or progress towards professional aviation. Training is available from Redcliffe near Brisbane, with selected training also available through AAT’s Bundaberg operation. Courses can be tailored to the pilot’s existing qualifications, experience and intended flying pathway.
Night VFR training develops the skills required to operate safely at night under the Visual Flight Rules. Training includes night circuits, navigation, aircraft handling, lighting considerations, human factors and the additional planning required for night operations.
Design Feature Endorsements
AAT can provide a broad range of CASA aircraft design feature endorsement training, allowing pilots to expand the range of aircraft they are qualified to operate.
Design feature endorsements provide the additional knowledge and practical skills required to safely operate aircraft fitted with particular systems or configurations. CASA requires pilots to complete appropriate flight training and be assessed as competent before an authorised flight instructor can issue the endorsement. Civil Aviation Safety Authority
Depending on aircraft availability, instructor qualifications and the pilot’s existing experience, AAT can provide training for a range of aeroplane design features. These may include:
Tailwheel undercarriage
Retractable undercarriage
Manual propeller pitch control
Pressurisation systems
Gas turbine engine
other design feature training where suitable aircraft and authorised instructors are available.
Pilots can complete individual endorsements or incorporate design feature training into a broader pathway involving advanced aircraft, multi-engine operations, instrument training or professional aviation qualifications
Tailwheel training develops aircraft handling, directional control and take-off and landing techniques associated with conventional undercarriage aircraft. The training places particular emphasis on accurate aircraft control throughout the take-off, landing and ground-handling phases.
Aerobatic Training
Aerobatic training develops aircraft handling skills, situational awareness and understanding of aircraft behaviour beyond normal flight attitudes. Training is conducted progressively and places a strong emphasis on aircraft limitations, energy management, recovery techniques and disciplined handling.
Formation Flying
Formation training develops the skills required to safely operate in close proximity to another aircraft. Pilots learn formation procedures, station keeping, rejoins, breakaways, communication and the discipline required to maintain predictable aircraft positioning.
Other Advanced Endorsements and Training
AAT can provide or coordinate additional training depending on the pilot’s qualifications, aircraft availability and intended operating requirements. This may include aircraft-specific training, advanced handling, flight reviews, proficiency checks and preparation for further ratings or professional qualifications.
